NOOSHIN ALLAHDADI MSW, RSW
My name is Nooshin, and I am a mental health therapist. I have worked with children, youth and families for 17 years.
First, I want to commend you for taking the courage to seek the help you need. I believe that each human is not only unique; but resourceful, creative, and whole. I help individuals, couples, and families find their strength and resilience needed to face life or relationship challenges. I also believe you are the expert in your life, and my job is to help you make sense of your feelings, the stories you carry, the emotions you experience, and the obstacles that are getting in the way of living your best life.
Throughout my professional life, I have received specialized training in treating every person as a whole, including all of the important relationships in their life. I focus on helping you create healthy and fulfilling connections with those that are important to you. I use a variety of approaches that explore how your thoughts, emotions, and actions impact your overall functioning in life.
My primary goal is to take the therapy off the couch and out into nature. However, office appointments are available for those who would like that option. Being in nature provides many well-documented benefits to the brain. Connecting with nature can be a source of solace, inspiration, as well as mental and emotional wellbeing. Your initial appointment is normally in the office, where we'll explore what you're hoping to change in your life with the help of therapy. We will then decide if you would like to do movement therapy in the outdoors or office-based counselling.
The pain that you feel right now doesn’t have to be there
for the rest of your life. We can do the hard things together.
ARTURO BALLESTEROS MA, RCC
Arturo Ballesteros (he/him/his/él) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor living on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish People. He has worked as a counsellor for more than five years in non-profit, independent, community based organizations in Vancouver and White Rock, BC.
Arturo supports and assists a variety of individuals and their loved ones, based on the premise that positive change happens once we begin understanding how we operate. Arturo’s values and ideas guiding his work are also rooted in his experience as an immigrant. He believes that everyone is different and has different needs and that a “one-size-fits-all” model does not serve people’s best interest and does not enhance the human experience.
Arturo believes in everyone's power to create change in their lives. As a counsellor, he helps his clients to explore the topics brought to - and that emerge in - the counselling room using tools from different approaches. This tailors the counselling experience to the clients’ needs and nature of their problems. In this process, he hopes for clients to consolidate their understanding of the connection between what they see, what they want and who they are to allow them to make wise and transformative decisions in their lives.
For Arturo, the therapeutic connection between client and therapist is very important. He stays away from judgements and works in the client's best interest. His objective is to give the client a counselling experience in which their knowledge and value as a human being is honoured.
